God is moving in our community! Here is a brief update of what is going on:
• The WILD retreat for men - don't miss it! It's coming up in a few weeks. Check it out at http://newsong.net/wild
• NewSong Irvine Building Status: We're still diligently looking. We still have possibilities in Irvine and Santa Ana. We're praying about whether we should also do a preschool that would align with our vision and values of developing third culture leaders and to love our community with no strings attached.
• Finances: Right now, we're pretty close to being on target fiscally, but we are still trying to work on the deficit from last year. Also, over $50K has come in for the Cause Initiative Portfolio projects without our new portfolio even being launched yet!
• New members being added every month!
• Clarity of Xealot as an organization to connect resources to leaders. What resources? Human, financial, and knowledge capital. We'll be rolling out a new website for you to see these next year.
• The successful launch of 3 new verges (small group and mid-size groups combined)!
• NewSong Bangkok is growing more and more, even when some of the sent leaders came back to the States!
• Other Recent Highlights: A Marriage and Family event that addressed the issue of sex education was fantastic; Small Group (underground) Training and Development; communications improvement - our new beta NSLive site (live.newsong.net) is getting close to 5x more hits than our other sites.
Again, these are just some of the percolations of the spirit that we see going on at NewSong! Just wanted you to know that God is certainly at work!
Also, get ready for our new sermon series beginning in November about RELATIONSHIPS. The title is called ME-harmony. Who do you want to be close friends with? To marry? You'd be surprised how often we just want to marry someone just like us.
