The Unbalanced Life
Messy Spirituality Series Part 3
Speaker: Bill Clark

Mark 2:1-5
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Beware of teaching that says life will be good once you learn to balance everything.

The people who have had the most profound experiences with God are not those who have mastered management or those who have learned to control their emotions.

The people honored in the gospels as people of faith lived unbalanced lives. Unbalanced in the sense that they had a single focus. They were determined to bring their need before Jesus.

Faith is not simply a private belief in our hearts; you should be able to see it in our lives.

In what areas of your life are you desperate?

What are some ways you can rip off the roof to bring your need to Jesus?
